Myers of Keswick

Today Ingrid took me on a longish walk and we stopped in a store for her to buy some tea. It was a store with all kinds of English things and some (Scottish too!) and the people in the store sure did make over me. They all knew right away that I was a Border Terrier (isn't it obvious?) and they all asked my name. Ingrid picked me up cause there was a sign on the door that said "No dogs allowed" I guess cause there's a cat roaming around in there. Who cares about a cat when I'm the center of attention?!
Then we stopped in a pet store and I chose a toy from a basket, which Ingrid then HAD to buy for me cause she said I "slobbered" all over it. I just had it in my mouth a minute, jeez! Anyway, we stopped at the door of the English place and she took my picture with the toy, which I then proceeded to carry home in my mouth to the entertainment of everyone we passed. Can I help it if I'm a star?

How could this happen?!

Tony Sez:
Have you read this crazy story? I know if I was in a roomful of other Border Terriers, Ingrid would be able to pick me out. I'm just that unique!

Tomorrow is my birthday, and I can't wait. Ingrid made some kind of "cake" and I'm getting a new toy (I heard them talking). I just hope they don't dress me up in anything ...

Out in the Country

Whenever I need to leave it all behind
Or feel the need to get away
I find a quiet place, far from the human race
Out in the country

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'

Whenever I feel them closing in on me
Or need a bit of room to move
When life becomes too fast, I find relief at last
Out in the country

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'

As you can see, we spent the weekend in Pennsylvania. It was a big weekend of "firsts" for me!

I rode in a car for a couple hours! I've never done that before, except when I was a puppy and Ingrid and Tyler were taking me home with them. I don't remember that trip 'cause like I said I was just a pup.

Here's me in the car, a Mustang convertible, just as we were leaving our street.

Ok, first stop was Jake, Dusty and Lucy's place. They live with two people named Carla and Dave, and all of 'em were way cool. Me and Dusty almost got into it a couple times; I didn't like this thing that was inside a cage that kept laughing at everyone [edit from Ingrid: a parrot] so I barked at it, trying to tell it to stop laughing, and that started those three telling me to quiet down, but they sure were noisy about it! It was cool cause we got to go outside whenever we felt like it, and run around as you can see in the top picture.

I was a little hungry, and there was food right out for the taking!

So I took some.

I picked something out of the toy pile to play with and the first thing I did was tear the asshole out of it. It tasted like chicken.

Here's a little video of me and Jake and Lucy going after a toy that Tyler threw. I got it, as you can see. I always get it.

Here's me and Carla, one of the people. She loves me. Oh yeah, all the ladies love Tony.

Next we went in the car again and when we got out we were on a farm! There were two big goats there that didn't like dogs, so they got their hair standing up on their backs and stuff when they saw me. There was no way I wanted to get them mad at me, one of them had horns! Sharp horns.

While the people ate lunch, I played with my toy that Carla and Dave said I could take, which was nice cause I was taking it anyway. One of the people there wanted to give me a potato chip, but Ingrid and Tyler said no. They say no a lot. There were also some little black things buzzing around next to the porch and I was trying to catch them, but I didn't do very well with the toy in my mouth.

Then we all got back in the car and headed for home. I barfed in the car cause I had eaten a lot of grass. How could I not eat grass?! It was everywhere! I've never seen so much green! Oh and a biscuit came back up too, in its entirety. I didn't chew it, you see, just swallowed it whole 'cause I had to get it before Jake did when the people were handing them out. Ha, I beat him to it. But he probably didn't throw up.

Then I fell asleep. It smelled like chicken.

Old Navy Rocks!

And this is how I roll ...

Ingrid and I went to Old Navy, she was getting some tshirts and we stopped by the dog section. I got a new "T" tag, a new red, white and blue collar for the summer, and then I picked this toy out and she bought it for me! I carried it all the way home, cause I wanted everyone to know it was mine, baby. The whole way people were pointing and smiling at us, probably cause they wanted a tire toy, but there was no way I was letting go of that. It's my new fave toy!

Westminster Schwag!

If there's anything Ingrid loves, it's free stuff. Here's the bagful of goodies she came home with from the dog show. Note: there were three of the blue mini-frisbees, but I destroyed one right out of the bag. Oh, yeah.

Toast, a la Tony

Our friend Carla sent us some toys last week. She has two dogs and thought she had found something that would last me awhile. Think again, Carla!

This is how I play with toys, see? I like to tug 'em and pull 'em, and then sometimes when I'm just getting off on how strong I am, I just roll around in a kind of toy-ripping ecstasy.

It doesn't matter how the toys start out, twenty minutes later, they're toast.
